Still focusing on the holidays...well this topic is a good one!
Here is PROVERBS 13:3 in several versions.
It's about talking and opening our big mouths. I opened my big mouth at the last holiday feast and I had no idea what kind of fireworks were ahead for me and my family. I am here to tell you, don't talk so much, keep it light, don't say too much about anything. Do not talk about politics! Do not talk about religion, do not talk about money! Be very careful what you say so that when your holiday family gathering is over everyone is still "talking" to each other!!!!
Those who control their tongue will have a long life;
opening your mouth can ruin everything.
He who guards his mouth keeps his life, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
The one who guards his words guards his life,
but whoever is talkative will come to ruin.Keep what you know to yourself,and you will be safe;talk too much,and you are done for.The one who guards his mouth protects his life;the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin.He who guards his lips guards his life,but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.Be careful what you say and protect your life. A careless talker destroys himself.
