I read an article today about freedom after salvation.
I have clipped some of it and posted below.
It is one of the things I personally struggle with.
I am free in Christ based upon my decision to accept Christ.
However, many days I feel unworthy, broken and so much like a failure.
I fight it.
I deal with it.
But to know this is what is going on helps me.
It always helps to understand the reason why...why I do what you do, why do I feel the way I feel etc.
The bottom line is this. We have an enemy. His name is Satan. It sounds almost like a fantasy world, but it is true. And we forget that it is simply light vs. dark, good vs bad, winning the battle or losing the battle.
Here is a scripture describing it. (different versions)
And here is a clip of the article I read by Neil Anderson.
It is worth reading....
Therefore, there is now no condemnationfor those who are in Christ Jesus.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.
Ephesians 6:12 (CEV)

It is worth reading....
Before we received Christ, we were slaves to sin. But because of Christ's work on the cross, sin's power over us has been broken. Satan has no right of ownership or authority over us. He is a defeated foe, but he is committed to keeping us from realizing that. He knows he can block your effectiveness as a Christian if he can deceive you into believing that you are nothing but a product of your past, subject to sin, prone to failure, and controlled by your habits. As long as he can confuse you and blind you with his dark lies, you won't be able to see that the chains which once bound you are broken. You are free in Christ, but if the devil can deceive you into believing you're not, you won't experience the freedom which is your inheritance.
"It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1). This verse not only assures us that God wants us free, but also warns us that we can lose our freedom by returning to the law.
