The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:9
Well, how cool is that? Trusting God means salvation for your soul.
So what is my soul? It's the real me.
Our soul actually leaves our body and will live on after our body dies. When we trust in Christ---there is a reward, it's the salvation of our souls. Pretty cool huh?
And think about it...
You don't have to earn it.
You don't have to work for it.
You can't buy it.
In fact. there is only one way to get it and that is through trusting Christ.
You trust Christ and because of that, there is a reward. It's called salvation.
What is salvation, it's being saved from something.
The Bible teaches that our sin separates us from God.
Being reunited with God through Christ is salvation.
The salvation of our soul is connecting with God through Jesus (now while here on this earth) and upon our physical death when we enter Heaven.
The opposite of that will be separation from Him.
He made Heaven for us. He has prepared a place for us--but getting there depends on the receiving salvation through Christ.
Why would we not want this when it's free and all we have to do is trust and believe?
Oh and guess what, we even get a new body...(yay)
For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.2 Corinthians 5:1
