Prayer is so interesting to me.
We have a desire or a problem. We go somewhere quiet and we talk to God. We can't see Him and we can't feel Him---but we connect with him from our heart and simply talk to Him.
And as we are doing this, we are believing that He hears us. We are believing that the God who created us as well as the entire universe is listening to us. We tell Him everything, we unburden ourselves. We let it go, whatever it is, and we hand it over to this unseen God and trust that He is going to deal with it.
After we have turned it over to the one in charge, we leave that quiet spot, and we feel we have done everything we possibly can. We have taken it to the person who has the power to change it. We have submitted ourselves to the one who is in charge of the waves of the sea, the moon and the stars and the one who made us.
Someone said to me recently, do you really think God cares about something like that?
I believe He does.
I believe He does.
If he knows how many hairs are on our head (and that changes every time we shower or brush our hair) then don't you think He cares about where we will live, or work, or who we will marry or anything else that is important to us?
The Bible says that he notices when a sparrow falls to the ground.
I can't understand God, He is too much for me, He is too awesome for me. To realize that God is all-knowing, all-present, all-seeing, and all-powerful is too much for my mind. He commands the waves of the sea but also notices when a bird falls to the ground, it's just too much to wrap my head around.
To be able to communicate with this amazing being, this God of the universe--someone this wonderful who wants to be involved in the affairs of my life is mind boggling to me and exciting at the same time. To know that He is working things out for my good, and that He loves me blows me away.
But, I don't have to understand How awesome He is, all I have to do is trust Him.
That is just the most refreshing thing I can think of.
KLWhat is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
