My Big Board

I don't want to be a hypocrite but I realized this week just how much of one I am....

I can see everything that is wrong with you. I can try and help you fix it as I am criticizing you, judging you and feeling smug that I don't have the same problem as you.

But in the meantime, everything that is WRONG with me, (and it is a laundry list) gets shoved way down under and hidden away and doesn't get dealt with...although it is more than likely very visible to others!

I need to face the fact that I have ISSUES and I need to WORK on them!

I have STUFF that I need to LOOK at, EXAMINE, and FIX in my life! (or at least be in the process of working on!).

Here's a revelation--I need to work on myself and not you.

So how about this--you work on you and I'll work on me, deal?

Prayer: God, forgive me for being a hypocrite! Help me to work on my big board and quit judging others for their little speck.

How can you say to your brother, "Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye," when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
