How do we wake up our spirit?
Our spirit is dead until we put our faith in Christ and are reborn or born again.
John 3:3-8 says
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”
The Bible says
all men are appointed once to die.
Hebrews 9:27
But our spirit will live on in eternity either
separated from God
or
reconnected to God.
separated from God
or
reconnected to God.
Our spirit is eternally separated from God until we receive Christ’s blood as payment for our sins.
When we feed our spirit in this life, we are better able to control our flesh and win the war that is being fought within our own self.
Feeding our spirit is like going to the spiritual gym.
When we do that, we actually are stronger and can win over our almighty and powerful flesh that screams so loud.
Our flesh really will perish for good upon our death, but our spirit will live on....and we will be given a new body....But until that happens, our flesh will be in a continuous battle to "win" over our spirit. Our flesh will continue to have animalistic cravings that can get out of control.
Once our spirit is reborn (putting our faith in Christ), what are we going to do with it? Are we going to feed it, spend time on it, and help it become strong? Or are we going to continue to pay attention to our flesh and ignore our spirit?
But what about our spirit?
Once our spirit is reborn (putting our faith in Christ), what are we going to do with it? Are we going to feed it, spend time on it, and help it become strong? Or are we going to continue to pay attention to our flesh and ignore our spirit?

2 Corinthians 5:1-10
For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. KL
